No gym? No problem!

Marla Starr is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer willing to work one-on-one with you in the comfort of your own home, outside in your own backyard or a nearby park. You can train at Starr Fitness or work together virtually.

In addition to 1:1 private training Marla also offers duo training (two people) or semi-private training (three or more people).

Marla can accommodate small group private training for your personal goals and needs. If you and a group of family or friends want to sweat together, this is the perfect option for you.

Yoga

Strengthen your mind-body connection while building strength and linking breath to movement in Power Yoga and/or embrace calm in a Restorative Yoga class.

 

Starr Power Yoga

Build strength, increase flexibility, and gain focus. Learn the fundamental yoga poses. Connect breath to movement. Challenge mind, body & spirit during this vinyasa flow class.

 

Starr Power Yoga Express

Enjoy all the benefits Power Yoga has to offer, just in a 45 minute block of time instead of 60 minutes.

Starr Restorative Yoga

Relax, de-stress, re-energize and find balance as Marla leads you in an hour long restorative yoga class with essential oils. Restorative yoga is a receptive practice as opposed to an active practice. Props are used throughout class, poses are held for anywhere between 5-10 minutes each, in order to achieve the desired benefits and cultivate a state of deep relaxation.

 

Starr Stretch + Release

We all know that stress starts in the mind and can affect the body. When we get stressed, we tend to tense up, causing our muscles to contract and develop tension. This class is developed with the goal to release the tension. Relieve soreness and tension by opening up the back, shoulders and hips plus specialized focus on individual areas with the addition of myofascial release. This class is typically 45 minutes to allow for a longer savasana at the end of class.

Starr HIIT Yoga

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and weight training meets Yoga! This class blends power yoga and free weights along with bursts of cardio. Strengthen and tone every muscle group in familiar yoga poses while mixing in strength-training moves like squats, lunges and bicep curls. Flow through a yoga sequence while adding cardio and weights to the mix.

Barre

What is barre?

Barre uses a combination of postures inspired by ballet, yoga, Pilates, dance and weight training for a full body, balanced and safe workout available for all ages and all fitness levels.

The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with exercises that use the body’s own resistance with high reps of small range-of-motion movements to fatigue muscles and select muscle groups. A barre is not needed to take a barre class, a chair can be used in its place.

 

Starr Barre

A 60 minute whole-body workout choreographed to the rhythm of the music, so listen for the beat and you’ll be right on track! Embrace the shake and try something new.

Starr Barre Express

Receive all the same benefits of Starr Barre in 45 minutes, instead of an hour!

Starr Barre/Yoga Fusion

A Starr Fitness signature class! A fluid combination of both barre & power yoga, fused together as one. This is not your typical barre or yoga class and there is no cardio component like HIIT Yoga or Yoga Sculpt. Weights are optional. This class is 45 minutes although it can be extended to 60 minutes on occasion as a pop-up. Fusion is open to all levels and abilities.

Cardio + Strength

Your heart is a muscle that needs to be strengthened, just like any other muscle in your body. Improve your cardiovascular fitness and burn more calories during HIIT than you would during steady state cardio and increase strength during Circuit. No class is ever exactly the same!

 

Starr HIIT

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) will get your body moving, your heart pumping and will work every muscle group.

HIIT is a full body workout focussed on short bouts of high-intensity exercise intervals paired with periods of lower intensity intervals of active recovery.

This class is typically 45 minutes.

Starr Circuit

This class is a full body workout using bodyweight, dumbbells, barbells and other tools including battleropes, kettlebells, TRX and more in a circuit format.

Listen for the bell as you rotate through the stations which include a blend of strength and cardio in tabata and longer formats.

This class is typically 60 minutes or try Starr Circuit30, the 30 minute condensed version!

Kettlebells

Kettlebells are an efficient and effective way to workout for both men and women alike!

A minimalists favorite workout tool. Kettlebells help to build balance, power, muscle and more.

 

Starr Kettlebells

Starr Kettlebells + Kardio focusses on the use of kettlebells to build strength and endurance through ballistics. Think kettlebell swings, kettlebell cleans & kettlebell snatches.

Starr Kettlebell Strength focusses more on strength building rather than endurance. During this class you’ll see more kettlebell deadlifts, kettlebell rows and Turkish getups.

Both classes are open to all fitness levels. Don’t be afraid of lifting heavy! If you’re new to kettlebell training or have never tried it before, no problem! Marla will teach you the basics of the kettlebell from the ground up and we’ll build your technique until you feel comfortable before increasing weight. Kettlebells are even optional as these classes can be completed using a dumbbell as well.

Starr Fitness Starr Boxing

Boxing

Start with the basics. Learn boxing fundamentals; jab, cross, hook, uppercut. No experience necessary.

 

Starr Boxing45

Clear your mind and engage your whole body in this 45 minute boxing workout. Utilize the fundamentals and train your brain with combinations that strengthen your arms, legs, core and stamina. Exude confidence as you leave drenched in sweat! Heavy bag and mits optional, shadow boxing and virtual class all provide the same effort if you bring the right state of mind first.

Cycle

Have your own stationary bicycle, a treadmill or elliptical machine at home? We’ve even had members of our community Zoom into class with us and walk outside to gain motivation to move a little quicker.

Allow Eileen, our certified Cycle instructor, lead you in a heart pumping, beat driven ride to raise your heart rate and get your legs pumping!
